Problem:   Create an accurate 3-Dimensional surface model of the production part. In this case, the customer knew that the part being measured was fully functional to their satisfaction, yet it did not conform to the original design intent.

Process:   The process used to fulfill this customer’s needs incorporated the use of laser digitizing measurement technology. In order to obtain all of the 3-Dimensional information, the model was digitized from a number of different orientations which were all later associated together into the same coordinate system.

Solution:   The digitized data was used as reference to create a fully surfaced, class-A model ready to go to production. This data can then be exported in IGES format for translation into almost any mainstream CAD package.
