Problem:   In this situation, a one of a kind part was given to us to obtain full part
definition. Because this was a prototype part, non-destructive measurement techniques were necessary.
Process:   The process used to complete this job was the use of laser digitizing. In
order to obtain even the smallest amounts of detail, the laser scanning equipment was adjusted
accordingly. Through numerous iterations complete coverage of the part was achieved.
Solution:   The acquired ‘point cloud data’ was used to generate 3-dimensional
cross-sections at the customer requested increments. Also the part was oriented into a customer-specified
coordinate system for import
